Stereo Photography2
03 September 2010

Taking advantage of a rare sunny day in London, I ventured out with my Canon 550D/T2i and tripod to capture some more stereoscopic photographs.

I tried to explore monocular depth cues such as geometric perspective, relative size and texture/geometry gradient. These images are created from two parallel photographs using the "shoot, slide, shoot" technique.

I think the most successful images of the day are these lead photographs of the bronze sculptures of the RAF WWII Memorial on Victoria Embankment in London. The fine details really come to life in relief.

I used Nuke to combine the two separate photographs into one anaglyph stereoscopic image, adjusting the convergence point and correcting rotational & vertical alignment.

Use red & cyan glasses to view the anaglyph stereoscopic 3D effect.
